The album was recorded at both Suma Studios, and in various remote locations including Torch Lake, MI. Allen and Grasha took the band into a more pop realm, and began using the studio more as a tool. This album spanned opening slots for several national artists including Wilco, Sheryl Crowe, Steve Earl, Grant Lee Buffalo and more.
It also began their touring relationship with songwriter Tim Easton, with whom the band toured with as opening act and backing band for a 6 week nationwide tour. The band and Allen would continue to work with Easton on several more nationwide tours. Allen went on to co-write the track 'Half a Day' for Easton's The Truth About Us LP, listed in Rolling Stone Magazine's Critics Picks for 2001. The album was released by New West and was produced and performed by the band Wilco.
